Annual Summer Internships (3 Positions)

All interns for the Summer 2010 festival season have been selected. We will begin the hiring process for our summer 2011 internships at the beginning of next year.

All positions are full-time but will require additional daily hours during the 3-week festival, which runs from July 18th-August 8th. These are paid internships running mid-May through mid-August. We will need the following positions:

Box Office Manager: Seeks responsible individual.

The Box Office Manager will be responsible for handling all ticket sale transactions. This includes taking orders, entering information into the VMF database, and mailing concert tickets. All transactions are confidential, so propriety and attention to detail is required. The Box Office Manager will also be in charge of the ticket and vending booth at all concert sites. Flexibility is a must. Additional office duties may be assigned, as the summer is an especially busy time at the Mozart Festival.

Volunteer and Site Coordinator: Seeks outgoing and energetic individual.

The Volunteer and Site Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting and managing the volunteers for each of the concerts. This will involve extensive knowledge of each of the concert sites and of the various volunteer requirements that are needed at each location. The position will also involve event planning for the June Volunteer Kick-Off and for the end-of-the-season Volunteer Thank You event. Flexibility is a must. Additional office duties may be assigned, as the summer is an especially busy time at the Mozart Festival.

Orchestra Manager: Seeks a well organized person with exceptional people management skills to manage approximately 90 musicians, rehearsal schedules, housing and transportation issues for those musicians, and music rental as well as many other concerns as they arise.

This position is extraordinarily time consuming and has unique characteristics that make it a special opportunity for someone to learn how working independently is some of the hardest work that can be done. Reliable transportation necessary.
