Limited-Edition Artwork by JDK's David Covell

The Festival is pleased to announce a collaborative effort with internationally recognized design firm Jager DiPaola Kemp (JDK). Artist David Covell has designed limited edition original art centered around the Festival's 2010 season. Less than one hundred hand-screened and numbered prints of these original works of art will be made available to our patrons for purchase. These purchases will directly benefit the Festival and also provide a wonderful work of art to hang in your home as a testament of your love of the arts, both visual and musical, here in Vermont.

Join us for the opening reception at JDK's gallery space at 47 Maple Street on June 4th from 6-8pm, as part of Burlington's First Friday Art Walk! Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres provided; beer and wine also available.

Artist's Statement

These posters were meant to be heard—what sound is to a composer, typography is to a designer. And while music is temporary, its beauty living in the moment it is played, these posters serve to make that moment last longer. They bring to mind the sounds of Chopin’s piano breezing through the trees surrounding Shelburne Farms, gliding across the ponds at Bolton Valley, or the notes of Mozart's symphony building in the glow of the magic hour at the Trapp Family concert meadow.

The Vermont Mozart Festival and these limited-edition posters are a celebration of the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth and of enjoying great music in remarkable settings.
